Welcome back to this week’s review of the series Matador on El Rey Network, one of the most recent networks to order scripted series. A lot can happen in 4 weeks- good guys can become bad guys and vice versa, romances can heat up or break down, and new characters can be introduced, or new storylines added. In the case of this new show, which does not rely on viewers’ ratings as it has already been renewed for season 2; there are tons that have occur, including a betrayal, a team initiation, a intense kidnapping and blackmail situation, and brutal killings. But let’s first recap what happened in the pilot first, shall we?

TV Thursdays: The Last TV Show With Robin Williams Starring In It (The Crazy Ones)

the-crazy-ones-first-season

Like I mentioned earlier in the week, it’s a very sad week that we as a nation and globe connected through social media may never fully ‘get over’; after the death of one of the most loved, respected, and popular TV and movie personalities ever- Robin Williams. It was shocking, it was unexpected, and soon enough, the tweets and messages flooded in from fans and his celebrity friends and acquaintances. I even wrote a post about my initial reactions, and writing down some personal thoughts, in the hope that people get some closure, healing, hope and understanding from this tragic and senseless mess. Now I think that it is only fitting that I delve into The Crazy Ones for this TV Thursday- the short lived 1 season CBS comedy TV show that would turn out to be Robin’s last role ever (not including the 4 movies in post production right now that Robin starred in, in some capacity). It’s an interesting show, although sometimes a little bit too procedural, and some people have said that if the show was renewed that Robin would still be alive. Well, that’s a very tricky subject matter, and one that I hope to answer with as little controversy as I can.

The 45th GMA Dove Awards Nominations Analysis

GMA-Dove_Awards

It’s probably my most favourite time of the year in terms of Christian music (ok, make that second favourite behind the WOW Hits list releasing). The annual Dove Awards, in which the nominations used to be announced at the beginning of the year for an awards night to be held in April (and the eligibility period was October the previous year stretching back till November the year before that), are now held and televised in October, with the nominations from April stretching back till May the previous year; and the nominations to me are sometimes more exciting than the main event.
