Time for another Top 10 post, and one that is not music related. Considering that I am from Australia, and am proud to identify myself as an Australian, I thought this would be a good post- a ranking of sports if you will. If you were to come to Australia, for a holiday, which sport should you check out, either through watching or even playing with your friends? Here are 10 sports that I reckon should be on the radar. Some you may have heard of, others you may not have, yet here’s 10 to keep you fit and occupied for the next few months.

One of the success stories of the summer season, Matador ended its first season run yesterday, and what I could say is ‘wow’. I assume that there will be plenty of time before the second season airs, so I encourage you to jump on the bandwagon and watch the first season pronto. Even if you don’t love soccer, even if you don’t love spy shows, even if you don’t like soccer and spy shows in the same show, I would say to still watch the show, as it is the characters and their growth and development throughout the past season that has been the shining light for me, and the predominant reason why I will watch season 2.

If you don’t know by now, let me say that I prefer cable series to broadcast shows. No it’s not only because of the shortened seasons, and the fact that there are less ‘filler’ episodes – but rather because of the quick pace of the story, and the fact that a lot can change within a few episodes.

Welcome back to this week’s review of the series Matador on El Rey Network, one of the most recent networks to order scripted series. A lot can happen in 4 weeks- good guys can become bad guys and vice versa, romances can heat up or break down, and new characters can be introduced, or new storylines added. In the case of this new show, which does not rely on viewers’ ratings as it has already been renewed for season 2; there are tons that have occur, including a betrayal, a team initiation, a intense kidnapping and blackmail situation, and brutal killings. But let’s first recap what happened in the pilot first, shall we?

Hands up who likes soccer? Who likes watching soccer on TV, or watching soccer themed TV series or films? Considering that the 2014 soccer World Cup just finished this week, and there was buzz about many games, especially those involving Germany, who won (if you weren’t aware); it’s fitting and strategic for Robert Rodriguez, who created the El Rey Network in December 2013, to launch the soccer/spy centred drama Matadorthis summer, and to grab people’s attention while soccer is still on their minds.
