A couple of years ago when Castle, which ran for 8 seasons, was cancelled (amid controversy, as a potential ninth season wouldn’t have included Stana Katic nor Tamala Jones, who played Kate Beckett and Lanie Parrish respectively), everyone was in uproar. Not because they thought that the show should have been renewed even without two of its biggest stars, but because the last few months of renegotiations between actors, their managers and the network, for probably the biggest pay-check; was so messy, drawn out and made to be more complicated than it needed to be- so much so that some viewers probably can’t even watch Castle now without being reminded about its unexpected demise that soured the whole tone of the entire series.

It’s been quite a while since I have reviewed a few episodes of Once Upon A Time (if you want a recap of what I have reviewed, check out the posts here!). In fact, right now we are halfway through Season 4B (which started airing on TV 5 weeks ago)…it’s kinda embarrassing that I haven’t kept up in reviewing what is one of my favourite TV shows this current season. But, life and working full time has kept me from reviewing TV shows (as I now have to prioritise which reviews I want to do first), and though I intended to review every few weeks; I hope it’s some consolation that I am starting to review TV shows again. With that I will briefly speak about the last three episodes in OUAT season 4A, of which you have probably seen the episodes anyway.

You know how I said that episodes 2-5 of Once Upon A Time this season was probably one of the most intense batch of episodes I’ve seen of the show? Well guess what? Yep, episodes 6-8 topped the intensity and my enjoyment! And I know that part of the reason why I loved these past few episodes, apart from the twists and turns and learning more and more of the Snow Queen’s plan, is the double episode that aired on TV this week; however there is character development in abundance here, and we also see a glimpse into the Snow Queen’s endgame, and see how Rumple fares into the Frozen plot, as well as seeing the Apprentice being more involved in the storyline as well.

Probably one of the most intense batch of episodes I’ve seen of Once Upon a Time ever, the 4th season of the ABC series has started off with a big bang, as characters from Frozen filled our screens and interacted with our beloved Storybrooke characters. And while it seemed that in the 4th season premiere episode, that Elsa (Georgina Haig) was going to harm Storybrooke and be the next ‘villian’ for that particular half of the season; what is revealed in the episodes after tells a more chilling story. Welcome Elizabeth Mitchell, to the OUAT family, now if only we can figure out the Snow Queen’s endgame, because it is rather mysterious…

What a difference a few weeks makes! I remember, I was commenting last time about Agents Of Shield, that Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), who was absent from the premiere, except for in Fitz’s (Iain de Caestecker) head as a hallucination, would resurface only in the mid-season finale, and I also reiterated that Skye’s dad (Kyle McLachlan) could feature, as a possible good guy! Oh, how wrong was I on several accounts! In fact, the past few episodes of Shield have warranted my declaration that this show is one of my favourites this entire season, as we see new characters interacting with our main leads. We also are given more pieces of the overarching puzzle, as we ask questions such as what does Hydra member Daniel Whitehall (Reed Diamond) want with the obelisk, what are the strange writings that Coulson (Clark Gregg) is writing, and is Simmons Hydra; and as we ask these questions, we are then enthralled and amazed at the high calibre of the show, and how it could tie into the upcoming movies.

One of the success stories of the summer season, Matador ended its first season run yesterday, and what I could say is ‘wow’. I assume that there will be plenty of time before the second season airs, so I encourage you to jump on the bandwagon and watch the first season pronto. Even if you don’t love soccer, even if you don’t love spy shows, even if you don’t like soccer and spy shows in the same show, I would say to still watch the show, as it is the characters and their growth and development throughout the past season that has been the shining light for me, and the predominant reason why I will watch season 2.

Everyone has most likely seen the recent Walt Disney feature film Frozen. If you haven’t, then people will look at you like you have three heads or one eye. Whether you love the film or hate it, this is a craze that won’t go away anytime soon, and is the most successful, and highest grossing Disney film ever. The story focuses on the concept of love, that it can rectify any problem, and that all we need to do is just let it go.

If you didn’t figure out from my top 10’s post a few weeks ago, let me spell it out for you. Once Upon a Time, a fairytale/fantasy family drama, which debuted in 2011, is one of my favourite shows on TV at the moment. And Season 4 is right around the corner (actually the premiere episode is on today, wow, time flies, doesn’t it?). I’ll be reviewing Season 4 episodes, but before I do, let me quickly recap Seasons 1-3, for those who haven’t seen the show are just want a refresher. Beware, spoilers are coming, so if you want to watch OUAT at your own pace, don’t read on.
