WOW HITS 2017: What’s Your Prediction (Part 2)?

While it has only been a few months since my first prediction of what I thought was going to be on WOW Hits 2017, within that time span many songs released to radio, and I have since revised my proposed list. While I know that no WOW Hits list can ever be perfect, I do know that timeliness is the key, and songs on the coveted WOW Hits compilation should reflect the claim that these songs on the compilation are indeed the top songs of that given year. While that indeed a discussion for another day and another time, what I will say is that choosing 39 songs that I believe should reflect the year of 2016 is a very difficult thing. Because frankly, you’d probably need two WOW Hits albums released per year to capture the number of hits. Nevertheless, this is what they have- WOW Hits albums releasing once a year in September sometime. So without further ado, here is my proposed list of songs I reckon should be at least considered for WOW Hits 2017 (note: a fair amount of songs included on my list in the post WOW Hits 2017: What’s Your Prediction (Part 1) are not present here and vice versa).

Top 10 ___: Top Ten Superhero Characters

2016 is quite the year if you are a fan of superhero drama TV shows and movies. In addition to the new Batman V. Superman movie releasing this year, you have the TV world thriving with shows where its central character is a superhero of some sort. Marvel’s Agents of Shield is a direct tie-in with the many Marvel Cinematic Universe movies releasing every so often. Not to mention their spinoff Agent Carter. Then let’s not forget the DC Universe. Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and now Legends of Tomorrow. So in honour of all things superhero, here’s my favourite 10 superhero characters (some have super powers, others don’t)- mind you, ask me in a year and I reckon half of these 10 will be different.

Message Mondays (When Our Plans Become Awry)

Have you ever wondered what it means to be fully at peace with your life, currently where you’re at? The moment in your life where, even though everything chaotic is happening around you, you are still at peace, both two feet firmly planted on the ground of certainty and identity, even if everything else around you is crumbling apart? It’s an art, being able to firmly believing that you are loved unconditionally, even if everyone else gives love that is opposite to what you believe. And I don’t think that many of us have managed and discovered that art yet. To answer honestly my question that I posed earlier in the paragraph, no, I don’t think at any moment, I’m fully content and at peace with my life. I don’t think anyone is. And therein lies my point- that even if we cannot be fully at ease with the life we live, we at least can rest in the fact that Christ Jesus has our lives in His hands, and that everything that we experience, good or bad, can and will be used in whatever way the Lord sees fit, for His own glory and our good. Pretty cool, right? Knowing that even if we don’t have our lives all figured out, that we can rest assured, knowing that whatever we experience will be to the betterment of ourselves as whatever we go through will point other people to the God who has changed our lives for the better?
