New Singles of 2015

Welcome to our new post of the week. While previously we as a site reviewed albums up til this point, this new post is a mini-review of sorts- picking 5 new singles of the year so far, of songs that haven’t been released on any album til now. Check out these 5 new songs of albums releasing in the remainder of 2015/16, and my thoughts on them. Which songs will you pick up when they become available on iTunes?

Top Twenty Favourite Songs of 2015…So Far!

Welcome to the latest instalment of our most recent blog series Top Tens. Last time, we unveiled 20 artists and songs that in our opinion should be included in WOW Hits 2017 next year. This time, on this expanded post, and in keeping with a similar theme, I will list 20 of my favourite songs of 2016 (in no particular order!).

TV Thursdays, Food Fridays and Sentimental Saturdays – Creative in the Kitchen

TV shows can teach us a lot, you know. From entertainment to education, from comedy to drama, factual to documentary, it can evoke many emotions within whenever we as a family unit sit down every so often each week to watch our ritualistic TV show that everyone in the family is eager to watch from week to week. While it is always different from person to person, and from family to family, what the family unit can all agree on is the fond memories the TV show will impact upon whomever watches it. In this case, and in relation to the title of this blog, the cooking shows that we watch can inspire us all, not necessarily to cook like Curtis Stone, Gordon Ramsey, Jamie Oliver or even Heston Blumenthal, but hopefully to cook, to be creative in the kitchen, and to maybe express a hidden talent or two, in a way that could be as beneficial to the family as it would probably be to the person cooking.

The new faith based film from the Kendrick Brothers (Alex and Stephen), called War Room, released to cinemas last week, and I had the privellege of interviewing the lead actor T.C. Stallings, recognised for his roles in films such as Jackson’s RunCourageous and Rumors Of Wars. In this email interview, we discussed the themes and take away messages from the film, what is next for TC in 2015, and what inspires him to share the love of Jesus everyday in the roles he portrays in various films! Check out the interview below.

How many of you like fame and adulation? Everyone? No one? Did anyone put up their hand just then? Or howabout I ask this question? Does everyone like to be told ‘well done’? Are we searching and searching, looking through the status, the fame, and friendship with others just to find out that what we’re really searching for us someone or even something to love and accept us the way that we are, and believe that the way that we are, as screwed up and messy as it can be, isn’t the way that we are going to stay? I know that question sounds like a mouthful, but just think about it for a moment. Are we living our lives in the moment, or thinking about the future? Are we focussing on our own needs (which includes the fame and adulation mind you) or are we focussing on others and what they would like to see happen in their lives? The title of the blog really hits home to me- not to us but to Your name be the glory. Have I really been living that out? If worship is a lifestyle as we have established previously, then are we really truly living as though we are not here to glorify ourselves in every aspect of our lives, but to glorify the One who gave us life and holds our thoughts, dreams, hopes, fears, despairs and everything else in His hands?
