Here’s the next instalment of “Sunday News Roundup”, from the 12th til the 18th January 2015. Enjoy reading the scoop on the latest news!
- This week there’s a lot of TV news. Partly because the Televisions Critics Association panels for various mid-season shows and for all the broadcast networks were held this week. So let’s break it down into groups shall we?
- On the CW, there are plenty of juicy tidbits we learned. We saw the latest iZombie and The Messengers promos (both debut within the next few months), and learnt about teasers for both shows. We found out about the possibility about an Atom TV show (spinoff from The Flash and Arrow), and learned of some spoilers from Hart Of Dixie, The Flash and Arrow this coming season. We found out about the CW’s big plans for summer 2016, their midseason schedule, and the 8 shows they renewed. Beauty And The Beast season 3 will premiere in June this year, and by the end of this season, we will know the identity of the Reverse Flash on The Flash, as well as see Jason Dohring on The Messengers.
- As far as shows on other TV channels, Red Band Society on FOX has effectively been cancelled, while there are some spoilers about mid-season shows that you can view here. There have been various casting updates to Once Upon A Time, Heroes Reborn, Scream Queens and Grease, while Person Of Interest star Sarah Shahi has spoken about the big twist on the CBS show. There are also new teasers and information about Orphan Black’s third season. Not to mention that the Golden Globe winners and Oscar nominations for 2015 were announced also. Which news are you most excited for?
- On the topic of TV news, let’s check in with some more, shall we? CBS has renewed all of their first season shows, while ABC Family has renewed The Fosters for season 3. Castle has been unofficially renewed for season 8, as well as The Royals on E!. Empire, Gotham and Brooklyn 99 have also been renewed for new seasons. As well as season renewals, there are new trailers for first season TV shows. Unreal, The Expanse and Complications will both debut this year, what do you think of them? Syfy (The 51st State and Spin) and NBC (3 comedy pilots) have picked up various new projects, do you think these will see the light or be cancelled like Benched? You can also watch a behind the scenes video about Crowder’s recording of Neon Steeple on Billboard, while you can also hear Derek Minor’s new single “Fly” featuring Colton Dixon, and the recent webcast of Vertical Church Band’s latest album Church Songs! - Time for album announcements and new studio information surfacing. Phil Wickham is in the studio recording his follow-up to The Ascension and Chris August’s new album The Maker releases in April. Hawk Nelson has a new website about their new album, and The Brilliance are releasing their debut album in February. Bethel Music just streamed their new film on Facebook this past weekend, and Misty Edwards’ Little Bird released on Relevant’s The Drop in its entirety recently. Matthew West has unveiled that his new album Live Forever is releasing at the end of April- check out his latest song story of the newest single “Day One”; and Brandon Heath has released a trailer to his new album No Turning Back. Kevin Max has chatted to Breathecast about Broken Temples and Remedy Drive’s Dave Mohr has left Remedy Drive to join The Era. David Dunn has also partnered with Rapzilla for a remix contest of all 5 songs of his EP; which album news excites you the most?
