Welcome to the latest instalment of our most recent blog series Top Tens. Last time, we explored our favourite 10 bands whom we have listened to over the past 10 years. And I know we have mentioned that this week and next week we will post about our favourite male and female vocalists, but in light of the WOW Hits 2017 track list releasing (view the tracklist here, and our review of the album here– the compilation drops September 23rd!), we have postponed those posts a week or so. This time, in light of the recent WOW Hits 2017 song reveal, I will unveil 10 artists songs that I think should have been in within the track list of 39, but weren’t, for one reason or another. I won’t be listing any reason though (I have already said a lot in the extensive review of WOW Hits 2017!) but what I will say is this. There are millions of popular radio singles and CCM songs releasing every year, and to fit them all into 39 spots is impossible. There are definitely some songs that will surely miss out. But these ten below personally were shoe-ins for inclusion, and deserved to be present. Why they were omitted, I will probably never know.
Josh Wilson- No More
Audio Adrenaline- Sound Of The Saints
Finding Favour- Refuge
7eventh Time Down- God Is On The Move
Blanca- Not Backing Down
Hillary Scott & the Scott Family- Thy Will
The Afters- Live On Forever
Phil Wickham- Your Love Awakens Me
Group 1 Crew- Wake Me Up
Skillet- Stars

So let’s open the floor for discussion. What is your ideal WOW Hits 2016 list? You can view our predictions here and here!
I already said my personal track list, but here is my top ten songs that should have been included:
Jeremy Camp – Christ in Me (instead of Same Power)
Ryan Stevenson – Eye of the Storm (feat. GabeReal)
7eventh Time Down – God Is On the Move
Lincoln Brewster – There Is Power
Josh Wilson – That Was Then, This Is Now
Aaron Shust – Ever Be
The Afters – Live On Forever
Hillary Scott & The Scott Family – Thy Will
Finding Favour – Cast My Cares
Phil Wickham – Your Love Awakens Me
REALLY wish that most of these songs (namely Refuge and God Is On The Move) had made it onto WOW 2017, but I am almost certain that at least one of them will make WOW Hits 2018, so that’s good. 🙂
I’ve been listening to some of the older albums this summer, and it seems that back in the day, even if an artist had a huge #1 hit, it would not always make it onto a WOW Hits album (I Can Only Imagine, shockingly, never appeared on one!). These days, it’s the exact opposite. If an artist/band has a big hit, it makes it onto a WOW album no matter what—doesn’t matter if the song is two years old and no longer a hit. It’s kind of hard to put it into words, but that’s something I’ve noticed recently, and I’m not sure if I like that.
