Track Listing:

  1. Witness

Singed to Centricity Music in 2015, Jordan Feliz has had a gigantic rise to fame. Partly that’s due to the smash hit “The River”, but as the years roll on, it’s evident to see that his music exudes a sense of honesty, authenticity and vulnerability that we probably haven’t heard and seen from many more artists recently. I guess that’s one of the reasons why Jordan hasn’t released a sophomore full length album yet. And it’s possibly because listeners are still loving his debut album The River and are still being blessed by his songs such as “Never Too Far Gone”, “Beloved” and “Satisfied” to name a few. And while last month Jordan unveiled the rather unnecessary release 1 Mic 1 Take, this week Jordan surprisingly dropped new material, for his brand new full length album, releasing sometime in 2018. “Witness” is a groovy, jazz/gospel/pop 3 minute melody, where Jordan eloquently exclaims that Jesus is changing him from the inside out, a testimony like song, asking the listeners ‘…can I get a witness?…’. Tongue in cheek at times, the result of “Witness” is an inspiring and encouraging anthem, and one that is sure to propel him to even greater heights.

While “The River” saw Jordan climb stratospheric heights that maybe the public and even him didn’t even think was possible, what “Witness” has done, is show us that there probably isn’t going to be a ‘sophomore slump’ so to speak. With plenty of drums, explosive guitars and pulsating beats, Jordan provides us with beautiful lyrics and a passionate heart for Jesus, as he eloquently recounts to us that ‘…Your love is like a fountain, It’ll never run dry, it’ll never run dry, Your love is moving mountains, every day of my life, every day of my life…’. As Jordan relays to us that Jesus’ love is never ending, and wants everyone to know this fact (thematically similar to “Amen” from Matthew West!), Jordan should be proud of the new melody and also be congratulated. “Witness” is a strong powerhouse anthem, and I can’t wait for the new album to be released next year!

Even if you don’t connect that much with “Witness”, or prefer “The River” or any other track from Jordan’s debut album, there’s no denying the passion of this inspiring young man of God. Until Jordan Feliz’s full-length sophomore album of all-new material releases soon, this song is what we have. So what are you waiting for? Check out “Witness” and let me know what you think.
