This upcoming TV season is probably the most interesting I’ve ever seen over the past few years. Plenty of timeslot changes from networks, as well as dubious pickups, expected and shocking cancellations alike, as well as head-shaking and confusing fall schedules from some networks; all make for interesting drama. And we’re not even in September yet! Last time on my ‘best of 2019’ list, I wrote about 10 upcoming new fall shows from network TV, that I’m eagerly anticipating, as well as 5 midseason shows. You can view the post here, as well as the official 2019/2020 TV season schedule on Wikipedia– but herein lies the point.

Every year, everyone becomes obsessed about the fall network TV schedules, but new cable TV schedules and the new and returning summer shows (cable and broadcast) are probably equally and even more so compelling. Already shows like The In Between, When They See Us, Swamp Thing, Blood And Treasure, The Hot Zone, What If and Good Omens have been released since the end of the 2018/19 TV season; and are garnering positive reviews and comments… So as we all are still critical of the upcoming fall broadcast schedule, and while you all are working out which shows you all will be watching live, and which you will record on DVR come September/October time on CW, FOX, NBC, ABC and CBS; here are 10 upcoming new shows that are airing this summer (or winter if you live in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere!), that I reckon you all should check out. Maybe we can all do some binging before the Arrowverse or the Chicago shows come back…
