Yesterday was Father’s Day, a day where the world collectively remembers our fathers and what they’ve done for us. The Bible has done a great job outlining what the role of a Biblical father is: someone who will guide his children, training them in the ways of the LORD, and as Proverbs 22:6 says, “when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Unfortunately, in our fallen and broken society, people are bound to fail. There are many houses out there with no fathers, due to death, divorce, or other reasons. A father plays an important role in the development of any young child, so be grateful if God has placed a godly father in your life today. Be sure to thank them and let them know how much they mean to you.
Proverbs 22:6 says:
“Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.”
