Food Fridays: Recipes From Jamie’s Table!

Welcome to a special instalment of Food Fridays, where I will be sharing some videos of recipes I have found interesting from visiting Woolworths recently.

For our weekly shopping, my family and I visit Aldi most of the time. It’s very cheap, you can pick up some great quality food and drinks, however there are some items you just buy at Woolworths or Coles, because of the quality there as well. One of these is Bundaberg ginger beer, which we buy at Woolworths, which is in the same shopping complex as Aldi. While we are there we also normally look at the veges and check to see if there is something catching our eye that is fairly cheap. Why am I telling you guys this backstory? Well recently, I have noticed in the vege section of Woolworths in Eastlakes, where we shop, that there is a mini food cart set up in the middle, called Jamie’s Table, and this has intrigued me, so I thought I would post something about it today, seeing that yesterday I stumbled another interesting recipe.

Of late, over the past 3-4 months, Jamie Oliver has been partnering with Woolworths, in a healthy initiative to encourage children to eat more healthily. As part of that initiative, videos are posted online on the Woolworths youtube channel, with Jamie’s friend Tobie Puttock teaching us how to cook some of Jamie’s well known and quick recipes using Woolworths ingredients; and the written recipe for that week or fortnight is shown in stores.

While I am not going to talk about all of the recipes now- below are all of the videos for you to take  a look at your viewing pleasure; I will say that you don’t have to use all of the ingredients bought from Woolworths, and you also don’t have to use a food processor if you don’t have one. Mind you, preparation would take slightly longer, and dishes specifically needing a food processor may not taste the same if the food processor isn’t used, however, the clean up will take no time at all. Think it it that way. What time you gain on preparation, you will certainly lose on cleaning up. or you could buy a food processor if you don’t have one, if there are many dishes you want to cook that require such an apparatus.

Check out the videos below of Jamie’s friend Tobie showing us how to cook various dishes, such as Stuffed Leg Of Lamb with Rosemary, Grilled Cajun Prawns, Veg Rosti, and Traybaked Chicken. Which dishes are your favourite, and which will/have you tried out in your kitchen?
