WOW HITS 2018: WHAT’S YOUR PREDICTION (PART 2)?

Believe it or not, this past year of 2016 is now over. We are now entering into 2017, a full 365 days of a new chapter, a new year in this book called ‘life’- so let’s take each day and live it to the full and to what God wants, right? Anyway… we thought that with the year ticking over, it’s time for another WOW Hits prediction for WOW Hits 2018!

Even though we already made a predicted list a while ago (you can view it here!), there’s plenty of new songs and soon-to-be released songs added to this ever changing list, so without further ado, here’s my stab at WOW Hits 2018, and stay tuned to more predictions later this year! Top 10 ___: Top Thirty Notable Omissions from past WOW Hits albums!

Welcome to the latest instalment of our most recent blog series Top Tens. Last time, we unveiled 20 Artists and Songs that in our opinion should be present on WOW Hits 2018!

It seems that with the advent of Spotify, and more and more newer artists being present on WOW Hits albums, that there are more radio friendly Christian songs now than ever before. So some would say that it stands to reason that previous WOW Hits albums, especially those made in the 90’s and 00’s, were quite ‘easy’ to choose 30-odd tracks as the ‘best of the year’ without not much glaring oversights in terms of song choices.

WOW HITS 2018: WHAT’S YOUR PREDICTION (PART 1)?

2 months. 2 months to the date of Christmas Day. That’s how fast the year has progressed. In fact, time has passed so quickly this year that pretty soon, it’d be next year, and we’d all be thinking of…you guessed it, WOW Hits 2018. In fact, I’m sure you all are thinking about which songs are shoe-ins for next year’s compilation even now! Because, let’s be frank and honest here, WOW Hits has always been and will always be the most talked about Christian compilation album released in any year. So, what better time than now to make a prediction of WOW Hits 2018…sure probably half of my predictions will be correct (or maybe even less than half)…but, who knows. WOW Hits has always been known for placing dated songs on the annual WOW albums… So without further ado, here’s my stab and WOW Hits 2018, and stay tuned to more predictions later this year and into next year! Top 10 ___: Ten Artists Vying for the Coveted “BONUS SONG” Spot on WOW Hits 2017

Yes, I know that WOW Hits 2017 releases in September 2016 (5 months away), but it’s never too early to predict which artists will be highlighted on the new compilation album. Every year, 3 artists are highlighted that the executives and powers that be deem to be artists that have made a substantial impact in that current year in terms of radio hits and powerful songs. So in 2016, which 3 artists do you reckon will get the ‘green light’ to appear on the annual WOW Hits compilation in the BONUS category (not the 6 bonus deluxe edition tracks but the 3 on the standard edition)? Who knows, but below are 10 artists I believe will be in the running for such a honour come September 2016.

WOW HITS 2017: What’s Your Prediction (Part 2)?

While it has only been a few months since my first prediction of what I thought was going to be on WOW Hits 2017, within that time span many songs released to radio, and I have since revised my proposed list. While I know that no WOW Hits list can ever be perfect, I do know that timeliness is the key, and songs on the coveted WOW Hits compilation should reflect the claim that these songs on the compilation are indeed the top songs of that given year. While that indeed a discussion for another day and another time, what I will say is that choosing 39 songs that I believe should reflect the year of 2016 is a very difficult thing. Because frankly, you’d probably need two WOW Hits albums released per year to capture the number of hits. Nevertheless, this is what they have- WOW Hits albums releasing once a year in September sometime. So without further ado, here is my proposed list of songs I reckon should be at least considered for WOW Hits 2017 (note: a fair amount of songs included on my list in the post WOW Hits 2017: What’s Your Prediction (Part 1) are not present here and vice versa).
