BEST OF 2019- PART 8: TOP 15 ANTICIPATED TV SHOWS OF 2020

Here at 365 Days Of Inspiring Media, we try to cover a whole manner of articles- although most of the time we have reverted back to the music album review, because it’s what we know the most and what we’re good at the best. However that doesn’t mean that we aren’t heavily invested in other aspects of media. We have reviewed movies and TV shows in the past, and while we have embarked on one of our most ambitious blog series yet (about influential artists of all time!); we are also set to review all shows of the Arrowverse as well as the humongous crossover Crisis On Infinite Earths. But while you look forward to our other posts (which aren’t music reviews!), let me now give you another post to enjoy- as we this time highlight our most anticipated TV shows of 2020. While it’s true that we may not watch all of these shows; I reckon it’s great to have a list so that we can try to keep up if the pilot is enjoyable. So what are you waiting for? These 15 TV shows deserve a mention- so take a watch of these trailers and let me know if you’re planning on watching these shows!

TNT has had hits and misses over the years. From Rizzoli and Isles, The Closer, Perception, Major Crimes and Franklin and Bash, to Men of a Certain Age, Memphis Beat, King and Maxwell and Hawthorne; one can rightfully be cautious when leaping into a new series- because frankly, would you really watch a new show if the ratings were awful? I know you’d probably say ‘It depends on how good the storyline is’, but realistically, if the ratings are low and you know the show will be cancelled, you’d probably wouldn’t watch the show, regardless of whether it is great or not. Now, in light of what I just said, let us discuss Legends, a TNT show that debuted on August 13th (a six week break between me writing reviews of this show is not a good sign…) I could offer excuses and say that I didn’t have time to write this recap/review, but in all honesty, I didn’t really feel like doing it. There I said it. As much as I enjoyed the pilot episode, Legends went downhill from there. What started out as an interesting conspiracy drama became a run of the mill procedural with an overarching theme.

TV Thursdays: This TV Show (____) Is American…That Means It’s Great Quality, Right? (International Shows- Introduction)

It’s been about a couple of weeks or so since I last posted (about Robin Williams’ last show), and in between that time I have had time to think about this next series. We took a break for TV Thursdays one week, and in the other week, my brother Jon wrote a guest post about his favourite 15 shows of 2014, and what he is planning to watch this coming 2014/2015 broadcast TV season. So, what is the topic for today?

MTV debuted a clever TV show back in July, titled Finding Carter, which spoke about identity, where the titular main character found out that the mum she grew up with was in fact her kidnapper and that she had a whole new family that was waiting for her. The rest of the show explores identity, and how Carter tries to find out who she is in light of this revelation. TNT releases another new show this week about a similar theme. Though not about kidnapping, identity is nevertheless equally discussed in Legends, a covert-ops spy drama starring Sean Bean, of Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones fame. One of the most smartly produced summer series I’ve seen on TNT since Perception a few years ago, Legends, rather than being a story about fairytales, fables and legends as the title of the show suggests, instead gives us a story uniquely similar to the new MTV drama. Centring on Martin Odum (Sean Bean) and his quest to find out who he is amidst revelations of the contrary, we see a story unravel full of twists and turns, and a glimpse inside the FBI Deep Covers Operative Division (a fictional division, the FBI doesn’t have this section in real life).
