FLASHBACK FRIDAYS: WEEK 7 (Blessed Be Your Name by Matt Redman)- How Over-Reliance on Technology can Lead to Detrimental Effects

So, you have clicked on this link, and started to read expecting me to talk about MercyMe, and their hit single “I Can Only Imagine”, right? I mean, the much anticipated movie based on Bart Millard’s life released to cinemas today, so why wouldn’t I talk about how Almost There has shaped my life? Well, I’ve decided to change things around, and save that post for a later date (once I’ve seen the movie!)- and this week I’ll quickly outline a few incidents that occurred over the past few weeks that have reaffirmed my love for another album from this list of 52.

BEST OF 2017- PART 12: TOP 30 ALBUMS OF 2017 (JULY – DECEMBER)

If you can remember back about 6 months or so, I had the pleasure of unveiling my favourite 25 albums of January – June of 2017. And while I myself still haven’t reviewed everything that I wanted to in the year of 2017, I have since come to the conclusion, that 2017 was and is one of my favourite years in terms of music. And thus here we are in January 2018, as I am unveiling my favourite 30 albums of the back half of 2017. I have incorporated quotes/descriptions of my favourite 15 albums of July-December and the remaining 15 without quotes (because frankly, it could take too long for a reader to check out, and thus, the post could seem daunting and overwhelming to read), totaling 30 albums in the back half of the year that have stood out for me personally. And so without further ado, here below are my favourite albums of 2017 (second half). I will also do a post showing my favourite albums of 2017, period (thereby incorporating my favourite albums of the first half and second half of 2017 in one post. What are your favourite albums of 2017. Read on to check out mine!

TOP TWENTY ARTISTS AND SONGS THAT SHOULD BE PRESENT ON WOW HITS 2019

Welcome to the latest installment of our most recent blog series Top Tens. Last time, we unveiled 10 artists and songs that in our opinion should have been included on the official WOW Hits 2018 track listing, but weren’t. This time, on this special post, and in keeping with a similar theme, I will take an educated guess and list 20 songs that should be shoe-ins for WOW Hits 2019 (key word- should… I wrote a similar post last year and only 2 out of the 20 made it on WOW Hits 2018!). Some songs that I will predict for WOW Hits 2019 are released right now, so audio slides/lyric videos/music videos/song stories will be below, but others haven’t been released yet and I am just predicting based on the artist. Will these tracks be there in a year’s time? Only time will tell.

TOP 10 ___: (10 2016 CHRISTMAS ALBUMS WE NEVER REVIEWED)

Welcome to the latest instalment of our most recent blog series Top Tens. Last time, we unveiled 30 songs that should have been placed on previous WOW Hits compilations in my opinion.

On this particular Top Tens post however, before the year officially ends, I will delve into 10 Christmas albums from this year that we never reviewed, yet we planned to. While we reviewed Christmas albums from JJ Heller, Newsong, Amy Grant, Matthew West, Anthem Lights, Yancy, Audrey Assad, We Are Messengers, Jason Bare, Lauren Daigle, there were several other reviews that never eventuated, due to time constraints and simply because both Jon and I became busy with work. Which albums did we want to review, has we had ample time? Check out these 10 albums below! Which album were you sad that we didn’t review?

Message Mondays, Throwback Tuesdays, Worship Wednesdays (Living Life to the Full)

What does it look like to live each day with abandon? To not hold back in every aspect of our lives, regardless how mundane or trivial these tasks we undertake are? What does it really, truly mean for us to place aside every fear, burden, uncertainty and the like, and jump two feet into what we believe God has in store for us both now and into the future, in spite of our very real and present fears that what we undertake may not look like what we imagine or envisage, or worse still, what we hope God will accomplish in our lives as a result of our big decisions, isn’t what God has in store for us at all, but the exact opposite? Hard questions, I know but sometimes it is these questions that need to be said and discussed. To be asked and dialogued well by all involved, knowing full well that as we open up this forum to those close to us, we have to hope and know that what we say won’t be frowned on or judged. If we struggle with hopelessness, uncertainty, trying to determine the will of God in our lives, or even our plans v. His; regardless of what we lay bare on the table, surely we ought to know that those close to us won’t abandon us, no matter what skeletons rear their ugly heads?

Throwback Tuesdays & Worship Wednesdays- Favourite Worship Albums of 2006

It’s always good to keep up to date in terms of worship music. Yet in keeping in with the trends of the most popular worship song of today (we all know right now it’s “Good, Good Father”), we can sometimes miss the beauty that it is in listening to good worship music of years gone by. So this post will honour and commemorate worship albums of the past, in particular 2006. It was in 2006 that I started to branch out and listen to a wide variety of Christian music. So what are my favourite worship albums of that year? Read on to find out.
