TOP 10 ___: TOP 30 CCM SONGS OF THE SUMMER 2018

Another year, another post about “Top 10 CCM Songs Of The Summer”- and this time, instead of the last two instalments here and here, which we posted in July 2017 and July 2016 respectively, I’m going to ‘gaze into my crystal ball’ and have an educated guess about which songs that I reckon will be BIG over the next few months (both on CCM radio and inspirational in listeners’ lives!), and voice my opinions now- which songs do I reckon will explode and which songs do I reckon will have massive airplay on radio during the upcoming 3 months? Also, which songs do I reckon will worm their way into our hearts, and change our lives from the inside out?

FLASHBACK FRIDAYS: WEEK 12 (Diamonds by Hawk Nelson)- Are we truly loved, no matter what? Can we be ‘too far gone’ from unconditional love?

“…So go ahead and live like you’re loved
It’s ok to act like you’ve been set free
His love has made you more than enough
So go ahead and be who he made you to be
And live like you’re loved
Live like you’re loved…”

Hawk Nelson- “Live Like You’re Loved” (Diamonds, 2015)

There’s a question that has been swirling in my mind all of this week, relating to the theme of the previous Flashback Fridays blog. You know how in last week’s blog I spoke about the hard and deep questions that we all need to ask, but sometimes are afraid to, versus the easy and superficial questions that maybe aren’t that necessary, but we ask in abundance anyway? At the end I alluded to the fact that this week I will continue to talk about questions, and maybe certain questions in specific, and that’s exactly what I’m doing. But all throughout this week, though at times I was busy at the café, other times I pondered and reflected, and struggled to come up with a theme of what to talk about this week. Then today it hit me. Why don’t I highlight the question that we’re all inwardly asking ourselves, no matter our gender, race, socioeconomic status, religion, political views etc?

We’re coming to the end of March, and it’s officially Easter time. So before we post any Easter themed blogs or reviews of Easter themed albums, it’s time for another instalment of the ‘Best of’ series. Last time we delved into our anticipated TV series and anticipated movies for 2018, and this time, we are going to reveal to you all which songs throughout the first 3 months of 2018 have impacted us greatly, made us jump up for joy in praise to Jesus, have tugged at our heart, and have encouraged us to tap our toes and just dance! So without further ado, here are 20 songs that are our most favourite of January-March 2018.

BEST OF 2017- PART 10: Top Ten Anticipated Albums/EP’s of 2018

Can you all believe it? It’s the 1st January 2018- well, it’s the 1st where I am in Australia, I’m sure other places around the world, it’s still the 31st December 2017. It’s been quite a while since we as a site have posted anything (not since mid December), but with busyness in work leading up to the Christmas season, we have since decided to take this time to rest a little. Now with this new post, I have looked forward to the year of 2018, and what it will bring. While 2017 had a lot of great albums released that we could celebrate, I have catalogued 10 album/EP releases that release between this year, that I have been excited about, and I’m sure you will be too. While this year has been quite possibly one of my favourite years when it comes to album releases, if these 10 album releases are as great as I reckon they could be, then next year will be one of the best years yet in Christian music!

BEST OF 2016- Part 1: Top 20 Music Videos

It’s that time of the year again…or thereabouts! Where we compile all of our best of lists, and announce our favourite songs, music videos, albums, and EP’s of the year, as well as TV shows and movies; not to mention looking forward to everything happening in the next year. But while there are still 4 and a half months to go, my first best of 2016 list (of my favourite 20 music videos!) is such that I reckon no other music video that would release throughout the rest of 2016 could enter into this list! So here are my favourite 20 music videos of the year thus far!

Top 10 ___: Top 10 Artists Within the Last Few Years that are not American

The CCM community is humungous, and while I like my fair share of artists like MercyMe, Casting Crowns, TobyMac, Building 429 and the like, sometimes I like to put on an album of an artist that doesn’t come from America. Not that Americans don’t produce great CCM, quite the opposite. But rather I’ve realised that artists from Canada, Australia and even the U.K. seem to employ a broader sense of style, and music that is somewhat more ingenious and interesting to listen to compared to the endless sea of American CCM that floods the K-Love and Air 1 airwaves. Hopefully these 10 artists I’ve listed below will encourage you all to broaden the musical landscape of whatever Christian music you listen to. So what are my favourite 10 artists within the last few years that are not from America? Read on to find out.
