TOP 10 ___: 2018 ALBUMS WE NEVER REVIEWED!

Last year around this time, we delved into 10 2017 albums we never reviewed (due to life getting in the way), including albums from Lecrae (All Things Work Together), GAWVI (Like We Belong) and Jesus Culture (Love Has A Name) to name a few. Now, the time has arrived for us to list 10 albums we never reviewed, which released last year (even though we really wanted to)! A few albums may not make this list though, but that’s only because we still intend to review them this upcoming January and February 2019. BEST OF 2018- PART 6: TOP 20 SONGS OF 2018 (JULY – SEPTEMBER)

We’re coming to the end of September (time has flown by so much!), and it’s officially time to start thinking about Christmas music and buying loved ones Christmas presents (although I won’t start doing that until November sometime!) So before we post any more reflective blogs or reviews, it’s time for another installment of the ‘Best of’ series. Last time we delved into our top 20 songs for the second quarter of 2018, and this time, we are going to reveal to you all which songs throughout the next 3 months of 2018 (July – September) have impacted us greatly, made us jump up for joy in praising to Jesus, have tugged at our heart, and have encouraged us to tap our toes and just dance! TOP TWENTY ARTISTS AND SONGS THAT SHOULD BE PRESENT ON WOW HITS 2020

Welcome to the latest installment of our most recent blog series Top Tens. Last time, we unveiled 10 artists and songs that in our opinion should have been included on the official WOW Hits 2019 track listing, but weren’t. This time, on this special post, and in keeping with a similar theme, I will take an educated guess and list 20 songs that should be shoe-ins for WOW Hits 2020 (key word- should… I wrote a similar post last year and only 3 out of the 20 made it on WOW Hits 2019- better than 2/20 for the year before though!). Some songs that I will predict for WOW Hits 2020 are released right now, so audio slides/lyric videos/music videos/song stories will be below, but others haven’t been released yet and I am just predicting based on the artist. Some are singles, and some songs aren’t singles yet (but could be!) Will these tracks be there in a year’s time? Only time will tell.

FIRST IMPRESSION REVIEW – BUILDING 429’S “LIVE THE JOURNEY”

When we’re travelling down a road for whatever reason, what do you reckon is the most important? The destination; or the journey? The end result; or the things you do and the people you meet along the way? This tension and figuring out the best way to approach the Christian life is the central theme to Building 429’s brand new album Live The Journey, which releases in about a month. And while I reckon Building 429’s smash hit “Where I Belong” as well as several other singles such as “Unashamed”, “Ocean Deep”, “Impossible”, “We Won’t Be Shaken”, “Press On”, “Listen To The Sound”, “Always”, “Fearless”, “You Carried Me” and of course their debut single “Glory Defined” form a formidable group of some of their biggest hits; I reckon so far you can group every single song from Live The Journey in that group as well. Because in my opinion- I think that Live The Journey will be the band’s most popular and impacting album they’ve ever recorded.

FIRST IMPRESSION REVIEW – BLANCA’S “SHATTERED”

Group 1 Crew has always been one of my favourite artists- though it was only when the band released their 2010 album Outta Space Love that I truly became a fan. With their music always comprising of several genres (pop, CCM, rap, hip-hop, and a combination of all of the above!), songs like “Please Don’t Let Me Go”, “Live It Up”, “Walking On The Stars”, “Need Your Love”, “Beautiful”, “Lean On Me”, “He Said” all from the trio’s third album; have reminded me of their near flawless prowess as songwriters, performers and entertainers.

TOP 10___: 30 inspiring collaborative multi-artist songs

The other day when I was reviewing for an album, and was wanting to quote some lyrics, it dawned on me that probably around 90% of songs that I have heard and been impacted by, are written my maybe 3 or 4 songwriters, maybe more. Does that mean something? Maybe, maybe not. Maybe songs written by just one person don’t really tug at my heart that much, or maybe I’m just not listening to those songs for whatever reason. But what also became clearer during last week, is that one of the types of songs that I immediately gravitate to are songs with guest vocalists (and in most instances, the guest vocalist is a songwriter on the particular song they are featured on as well!). A song by artist A with artist B (or artists B, C and D) singing as well. To hear multiple singers, have their own collaborative stamp on songs is intriguing, so, I guess in honour of my recent reviews of “Gotta Live” (Tedashii and Jordan Feliz) and “Legends” (LZ7 and Silento), here’s my latest top Tens post- 30 collaborative multi-artist songs that have been inspiring to me of late. Songs that tug at my soul and inspire me to live better. Check them out and let me know your favourite multi-artist song!
