Today’s Worship Wednesday song comes from a band that has played an integral part in forming modern Christian Music: dcTalk. Their song “In The Light” is one of my favorite songs speaking about how we can try all we want to live life the way we want to. But, ultimately,  that life will lead us nowhere.

As Christians, we should ‘want to be in the Light’ with our Savior. I’ve found that if I try to live my life the way I want to, and not the way that God has called me to, it’s not as enjoyable. I’ve tried chasing money, and dreams that had no hope of becoming a reality, but I haven’t really enjoyed those things. I find myself truly happy when I follow Christ and His Will for my life. I’ve had to make some huge changes and it’s only through His Grace that these changes have been made.

Anyways, I digress. “In The Light” is a song that speaks for me when I have no way of putting into words my desire to follow Christ. My favorite part of the song is the bridge,

‘What’s going on inside of me?
I despise my own behavior
This only serves to confirm my suspicions
That I’m still a man in need of a savior’
