  • Thousand Foot Krutch have a new album called Oxygen:Inhale releasing in August 2014. Check out the album cover here. Are you excited for the album release?
  • It’s time for music videos. Check out the latest from Kaleidoscope (“Move”), needtobreathe (“The Heart”), Ellie Holcomb (“Marvellous Light”), Rush of Fools (“Lay Me Down”), Kindred (“Beneath the Surface”) and The Founded Trio (“You Make Me”). Which video is your favourite?
  • Bellarive, Moriah Peters and MercyMe have all released lyric videos this week, of “Calling On Fire”, “Give Me Jesus” and “Greater” respectively. Which song is the catchiest?
  • After a successful Kickstarter funded Through the Woods, Philippa Hanna is again turning to fans to fund her next album, this time through Rocketfuel. Are you thinking of contributing to the project? Funds pledged will help her release her new album, reinvent her website, give her an opportunity to have a world tour and help her promote ‘I Am Amazing Day’.
  • The world of TV doesn’t stop, and this last week was no different. Syfy’s “Ascension” has started production, and is anticipated to debut in November, while Elizabeth Mitchell and Giancarlo Esposito, both from the recently departed Revolution, are now recurring on Season 4 of Once Upon a Time. The announcement of Giancarlo Esposito was much anticipated, since his last appearance as Sidney Glass/The Magic Mirror was back in Season 1 prior to his role as Tom Neville in Revolution. Elizabeth Mitchell is starring in an unspecified role, with links to the Frozen characters of Elsa and Anna, who are also making their debuts in Season 4 too.
  • Again on the subject of TV, this time on the CW network; Robbie Amell, previously of The Tomorrow People fame, has signed on the dotted line to appear on The Flash, as well as William Sadler, while Arrow has casted Brandon Routh to recur as Ray Palmer in Season 3 of this superhero drama. Are you excited for both these CW dramas this 2014 TV season?
  • While many TV shows are casting roles for their debuts of seasons, other concepts are being turned into shows. Versailles and Shannara, on Canal Plus and MTV respectively, have been ordered to series, while Syfy’s Magicians has been given a pilot order. Which show is sparking your interest? Also on the subject of TV, FOX has just released their premiere date schedule for 2014/15, and El Rey Network’s Matador has been renewed for Season 2, even before the premiere of Season 1.
  • Sanctus Real, Joy Lippard and Lauren Daigle have released their songs to iTunes this week- “Lay it Down”, “Set Free” and “How Can It Be” respectively. Lauren has just signed to Centricity Music, and will release her debut EP later on during the year.
  • On the subject of new signings to labels, BEC Recordings are expanding their artist roster with pop artist Shuree, and Sparrow Records have also signed Canadian singer Dan Bremnes. Shuree has also released her new music video for ‘One Girl’, from her 2012 indie album One Girl Can Change the World and Sparrow Records have unveiled a ‘Get to know Dan Bremnes’ video. What do you think of Shuree and Dan Bremnes, and their music?
  • Adam Agee, known as Stellar Kart’s front man, is making a music video with Chris August. It is not known whether this is for a song on Chris’s studio album, or on Adam Agee’s solo album, or even on Stellar Kart’s new album, all three of them slated to be released by the end of 2014. One thing’s for sure, this song could appear on multiple albums!
  • Wanting to hear new music before it releases? Check out streams from Moriah Peters (Brave on Air 1), David Dunn (Crystal Clear on New Release Tuesday) and both HillaryJane and NF (Nate Feuerstein) (Wild Side & All I Have– Single, both on Jesus Freak Hideout).
  • Remember when Rookie Blue Season 5 was supersized to 22 episodes? Now there is a decision to split up the 22 episodes into 2 lots of 11, but instead of calling it 5A and 5B (like originally planned), 5B is now turning into Season 6 instead– will that mean season 7 starts up in May/June 2015?
  • The Emmy nominations were released a few days ago, with a few snubs, one of which was the omission of Tatiana Maslany as outstanding actress in a Television drama, in Orphan Black, one of the most critically acclaimed dramas currently on air. Speaking of Orphan Black, the show has just been renewed for season 3, to air in 2015. Are you upset that Tatiana didn’t get the recognition she thoroughly deserves? Are you excited nonetheless for Orphan Black season 3?
  • Recently departed from Audio Adrenaline, Kevin Max’s anticipated Broken Temples is now pushed back to a TBA date in 2014. With a new single poised to be released to radio soon, fans of Audio Adrenaline, Kevin Max and DC Talk are anxious to listen to what Kevin has to offer as a solo artist again.
  • Another unexpected music news announcement comes in the form of a new EP by Tenth Avenue North. Not seen or anticipated by anyone in the music industry, this quintet released Islands EP on the 10th July, ahead of their October 2014 album release. They also released live performances of ‘No Man is an Island’ on both K-Love and Air1. What do you think of the announcements of Tenth Avenue North and Kevin? Which one surprised you the most?
  • Fan of Dumbo when you were a kid? Plans are being made to release a live action movie, a Dumbo ‘remake’. Excited, angry, upset, eager, or just don’t know how to feel about the news?
  • For King and Country, releasing their sophomore album in September 2014, are travelling on their ‘You Matter’ Tour to promote the album. Check out the details on Jesus Freak Hideout.
  • A year and 3 months after All Things New released their debut album, they are readying the release of their new EP, titled ‘The Attic Sessions’. Check out the news in their facebook post.
  • WOW Hits 2015, the annual compilation featuring CCM hits over the last year, releases in September 2014, with the track listing for the double disc album being at the end of July. Check out the post on Facebook and comment on which songs you think should/would be on the CD.
  • Dream Records has launched a new contest, for fans and listeners of Satellites and Sirens to remix their hit single “Jump Start My Heart”. Are you up for the challenge?
  • Amy Grant is releasing her first remix album In Motion: The Remixes on August 19th 2014, via Sparrow Records, and her remix of “Baby, Baby” has hit No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Charts this past week. Check out the news here! Who’s excited to hear song old school Amy Grant songs redone?
  • Get ready, everyone, cause Colton Dixon’s “More Of You” music video is coming in a few days! Who’s excited to watch the video of Colton’s lead single from his soon to be released sophomore album Anchor?

  • Both ‘Wild’ and ‘Exodus: Gods and Kings’ debuted their trailers this week, both these movies releasing in the last quarter of 2014, and both having chances of being nominated in a variety of categories for the 2015 Oscars.
