Message Mondays + Throwback Tuesdays: Laminin, and Chris Tomlin’s Mega Worship Hit!

Welcome to another week, and another Message Mondays/Throwback Tuesdays post. I have decided to put both of these instalments together because it works for the topic I am about to briefly talk about.

Here in this external link is a segment of a sermon by Louie Giglio, spoken in 2005 on the How Great Is Our God tour headlined by Chris Tomlin. Louie is the pastor of Passion City Church in Atlanta Georgia, and the founder of the Passion movement way back in 1997. Comprising of artists on sixsteps records, like Chris Tomlin, Crowder, Matt Redman, Kristian Stanfill, and Christy Nockels, and rooted in the bible verse of Isaiah 26:8, the Passion movement has been revolutionary, as university aged students are being impacted at annual events around the globe, and lives are being changed for the Kingdom, personally I think that Passion is even more impacting and inspiring than Hillsong, but yeah that’s my opinion…

Anyway, I hear you asking- what makes this video, about laminin so important and powerful? Well it’s something to be seen, but let me say that there is a reason why laminin is the protein network foundation for most cells and molecules. Basically, Louie is talking in this segment about a molecular biologist he met a while ago after one of his talks who encouraged him to google ‘laminin’ and speak about it at the next event. Sure enough, Louie went and typed up laminin, and the results were extraordinary- the shape is of a cross, further proof of God’s existence and reassurance that He has a plan for each one of us. Louie then went on to feature laminin in the remainder of the talks on the tour, and maybe he used laminin on tours in 2006-present, as a tool to reminds us of God’s sovereignty and faithfulness.

Have you seen the video? Pretty cool and mind boggling huh? Well you can watch the rest of the talk here, and be amazed at God’s glory, splendour and majesty. And if there’s one takeaway you receive, it’s that God is holding us in the palm of His hands, and is guiding us through the trails, storms and tribulations of life, even when it seems like we’re alone. We’re not. Not by a long shot. God is here, He is actively interested in our lives, and He loves us too much to let us flounder through life on our own. So call out to Him, and remember that we are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of our Heavenly Father- even our cells and proteins, in particularly laminin, agree with Psalm 139!

Though this message on this Monday/Tuesday is kinda throwback, here’s a song related to Louie’s inspiring message, that is throwback as well, which imparts the message to us that Jesus is great above all other things and He is worthy of our praise. Below is “How Great Is Our God” by Chris Tomlin- both official music videos (from 2005 and 2012), which version do you like the best?
